This was a hidden gem, very close to my rented apartment near Rua das Aldas. The setting was an intimate and authentic tavern, maybe enough space for 25 guests, and they gave me a table with a great view even though I was by myself. The singing was heartfelt and the guitar playing was beautiful. The food was also great! The show lasted for about 3 hours in total. I could not have asked for a better experience and would like to bring my family here someday.

The fado is amazing! I really enjoyed the show and felt they did a good job of creating an atmosphere that lends to the history of this music. We weren’t incredibly impressed by the food, however. Also, note that this is a 3.5 hour experience. Consider an earlier show if you are struggling with jet lag! There is also a minimum purchase of $45, which makes sense with the incredible show you get!

This place is a charming and authentic tavern in the heart of Ribeira. Arriving there was a bit difficult, but roaming through the narrow alleys of the historic city center was amusing. The tavern is tiny; therefore, all tables are little and attached very close to each other, which makes the taverne particular. The menu offers various traditional fish and meat dishes and a decent choice of wines. The food was good but could have been more outstanding, whereas the service was friendly and courteous. The performance of the Fado singers was exceptional, and we had a delightful evening. Related to the prices, one of course, needs to be aware that they are higher in comparison to comparable restaurants since they also cover the performance. Like any of my reviews, of course, this review is related to the type of restaurant, the restaurant's gastronomic objective, the overall gastronomic quality of the respective city, and the general context and needs to get compared to similar types of restaurants.

My first fado experience! And the singers blew my mind! Food was okay. I really enjoyed my vegetable de bras. The service could be better. Also the ambience could be better if they didn’t keep switching off the AC. Totally understand that its the singers’ request but at the toll of the customers’ comfort? Not sure if that’s the right strategy.

Food is good, fado is... okay, but I have the impression that this place is overrated. Note: There is no air conditioning. The place is incredibly stuffy and hot, one fan only works when it doesn't play fado.The waiters didn't pay us much attention. They didn't even bring us the water we asked for... For a minimum price of 45 euros per person - it's a shame.
